Snaply

Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 August 2026 · Applies to the Snaply Android app (com.suipt.snaply)

The short version

1. Data stored only on your device

Using Snaply without signing in requires no account and sends nothing to us. The following is held in the app's private storage on your phone and is not transmitted anywhere:

Uninstalling the app removes all of this.

2. Data processed when you sign in

Signing in is optional and only needed for cloud backup, sync across devices, and sharing. We use Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication, which give us:

We also store your subscription state (free or Plus), its renewal date, how much cloud storage you have used, and how many share credits you have spent. These are needed to apply your plan's limits correctly.

3. Data uploaded when you enable cloud sync

Cloud sync is off by default and is enabled per folder. Nothing is uploaded until you turn it on for a specific folder. When you do, that folder's contents are copied to Google Firebase:

Please note the last point: enabling sync for a folder uploads the recognised text of the screenshots in it, not just the pictures. If a screenshot contains something you would rather not store in the cloud, keep its folder local.

4. Data involved in sharing

When you share a folder, you supply the email addresses of the people you want to invite. Those addresses are stored with the share record so we can check who is allowed to open it, and are used to send the invitation email. The shared folder's images and details are uploaded so the other members can see them. Only people you invite can access a share.

Revoking a share removes access for its members and deletes its uploaded copies.

5. Text recognition happens on your device

Snaply reads the text in your screenshots so you can search them. This uses Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. The image is processed locally on your phone and is not sent to Google or to us for that purpose.

6. What we do not do

7. Permissions we ask for

8. Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors to run the service:

Data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under these providers' own safeguards.

9. Retention and deletion

Synced content is kept while your account exists and the folder remains cloud-enabled. Turning sync off for a folder, deleting an item, or revoking a share removes the corresponding cloud copies.

Reset sync, under Account in the app, permanently deletes everything your account holds in the cloud — every synced folder and screenshot, and every share — and turns sync back off. Your screenshots remain on your device.

To delete your account itself, along with your profile record and subscription history, contact us using the details in section 14 and we will erase it. Backups held by our providers may persist for a short period afterwards before being overwritten.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. You can erase your cloud content yourself with Reset sync in the app, and you can contact us for account deletion or anything else.

11. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS, and content stored with our providers is encrypted at rest. Access to your synced content is restricted by server-side security rules so that only you, and members of folders you have shared, can read it. Folder locks add a PIN or biometric check on your device. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

Snaply is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted in the app.

14. Contact
